Yuwie-a New Concept in Social Networking

Get Paid for Social Networking!

Ok, MySpace is the granddaddy of social networking sites, so what could MySpace have to worry about? Enter Yuwie and FriendsWin!

Since the highly successful launch of MySpace, there have been many social networking sites to spring up and disappear just as quickly. While MySpace dominates the social networking scene at this time, their days of domination may be numbered. Yuwie and FriendsWin are both social networking websites, very similar to MySpace. They both have one distinct difference and huge advantage over MySpace.

The answer is Money!

That's right! Yuwie and FriendsWin pay you for hanging out and making friends and being active on the site. On Yuwie, the more page views and referrals you get, the more money you make. There are 10 levels and you advance through the levels by referring other members to the site through your referral link.

FriendsWin will have standard features that will be free to everyone, but will also have certain features that they will charge a 'pay per usage fee.' You can read more about the details on the FriendsWin Update Status page.

Right now, Yuwie has my vote for the best revenue sharing social networking site because it is 100% free. I'm reserving my vote for FriendsWin until they actually open the doors and I can get a better idea of the site, but it does have some exciting features that no other social networking site has, including video chat, video dating and video resumes.

Yeah, how does Yuwie and FriendsWin work? How Do I Make Money?

Don't think you are getting money for free here, you do have to put some effort into it... but, in a nutshell, when you sign up for either site, you receive a 'referral' link that is specific to you. It's like an account number. When you receive that number, you simply e-mail it to friends or post it on your MySpace profile, post it bulletins etc. Let people know about it. When they click on the link, they are sent to the introduction pages of each respective site and given a description of what the site is and how it works. That's it! It's up to them to make the move to sign up for the site, but it's up to you to make them realize the power behind the system.

So... Which one's better? Yuwie or FriendsWin?

Yuwie launched their site in June. As of today, (09-13-2007) there are 65,594 members on Yuwie and 25,501 of those have signed up the month of September alone. Yuwie brought in over 40,000 members in the month of August alone. That means Yuwie grew over 13x in one month! I checked out the Alexa traffic ranking for Yuwie today (08-31-2007), and it was sitting at a staggering 19,478 (the lower the number the better [and] to be ranked under 100,000 in Alexa is awesome!) I checked it again today (09-05-2007) and it is sitting at 16,248. It's actually kind of cool to look at the graph and see the spike in traffic since the inception of the site.

Once you sign up with the site, you have several different options accessible via icons displayed on the left-hand side.

Included in the left sidebar are icons for your messages, friends, photos, your blog, schools, clubs, favorites, and your referrals. Not much new there. What is new is the "Friend Feed" on the right sidebar. Every time your friends make a change to their pages, it is posted in the Friend Feed. Yuwie has several informational videos that tell you about the revenue sharing aspects of Yuwie. So how exactly do you get paid for social networking? Let's see.

Yuwie's Philosophy

Yuwie's philosophy is simple. Other social networks make millions of dollars a month from advertising while the users provide the content. Yuwie shares that revenue with it's users. You get paid just for using the site and for referrals (getting other people to sign up and use the site). Every time you change your profile or post a photo or video, post an entry in your blog, you get credit. Every time another user looks at your profile, you get credit. The amount or percentage that users get is based on the total revenue from advertisements that the site makes. They calculate this on the 15th of each month, and the figures are based on how much they made in the previous month. You can track this is in the earnings section of your profile.

The revenue share rate for the month of August was $0.47 per thousand views.

Note that you don't receive 1 page view for each of your referral's page views, but actually a percentage based on how deep they are in your referral tree. The basic idea, though, is the more referrals you have the more page views you get. Every month Yuwie.com will calculate how much money they received from advertisers, figure out how much a page view is worth, and then pay the members based on the number of pages views they have for that month. Then it starts all over again the next month.

How Much Can You Make?

The amount of money you make depends on how much interraction you have with the site. It is based on Levels 1 through 10, depending on how many people have signed up through your referral link.

Again, depending on how active you are on the site, here are sample earnings for all 10 levels, based on a revenue-sharing rate of $0.50.

So, if you like social networking, it's a no-brainer to join a site that actually pays you to do what you like to do already. The first thing you will wantto do, after making an enticing profile, is to getothers to sign up through your referral link. Tell friends and family about Yuwie, and tell your MySpace friends if you have a profile on MySpace. The whole idea is to get as many referrals and page views as possible.

How can I get more page views?

Make your profile interesting and keep the content fresh. Post in your blog, leave comments for your friends, upload photos and videos, put surveys or quizzes on your page. There are many more ideas for making your profile interesting. Use your creativity and see what you come up with. Don't forget -- when you make changes to your profile, all of your friends are notified of it through the Friend Feed.

You should also join groups or create a group if there isn't a group already made that you are interested in. It's best to search to see if there's already a club that matches your interest, rather than creating a new one. There already are many clubs on just about any topic you can think of. Choose groups that have a lot of members in them already so you get more page views.

Another way to get more page views is to help people out. Check out your downline and leave comments and offer encouragement and help so that they can get more referrals. Helping them to succeed will only help you to succeed.

Upload photos and videos. Your friends will see them and comment on them. You can group your photos by categories. Your photos will show up on your profile page. When you upload videos, they go in a central video area where users can see the newest and most popular ones and view videos by category. Members are able to comment the videos.

Each profile has a basic blog. You can post on just about anything you want. Posting interesting content in your blog frequently is a good way to keep your friends coming back to your profile. Remember ... the more profile views you get, the more you earn.

FriendsWin on the other hand, opened their screen door on August 1st, but they are yet to open their front door. This is one major advantage Yuwie has over FriendsWin. What am I talking about? FriendsWin as a website presence, is fully operational, but they are only accepting sign-up "applications" at the moment. They appear to have a few caveats up their sleeve that neither MySpace nor Yuwie currently offer. FriendsWin is currently 'free' during the sign-up period, but will require a $10 monthly membership fee once the site is officially live. FriendsWin is a lot like MySpace and Yuwie, but they have a bit of a twist to the services they offer. FriendsWin is currently only accepting applications to join but they do not have an actual website running yet.

Basically, FriendsWin is a social networking website, much like MySpace, Face Book, Orkut and other similar sites where you sign up for the services of being able to meet people to make friends, stay in touch with old friends, write and post blogs, post pictures, change your layout etc. The differences between those sites and FriendsWin include several factors, but the biggest is the incentive of money!. That's right! FriendsWin will pay you for knowing people and referring them in. Once you begin building a referral base of about "three levels deep", your referral list will automatically begin to grow on it's own, at an exponential rate. FriendsWin is like planting a flower. You have to go to the store. Then, you have to shop for the flower(s) that you want, potting soil, fertilizer and anything else that goes with planting a flower. You take the flower home and spend time to dig the hole, pull the flower out of the pot, pour in the potting soil, push any other 'dug out' soil back over the new flowers resting place and water it. (This is like doing the work to initially get the referrals). Then, you spend some time fertilizing the flower and watering it so it will grow (This is after you have some referrals, you show them how to get their own) Once the flower begins to grow, you don't touch it any more. It begins to take off and do it's own thing, without the need for you to touch it!

The main services that FriendsWin has to offer over Yuwie, MySpace, Orkut, FaceBook and the like, is a video conferencing service, video dating and video resumes. "Video Resumes? What is that?" Basically, you post information about yourself in a video which will be seen by prospective employers. Similar to how you post your resume on Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com but instead of the employer getting a digital read-out of your resume, they will be able to see you live in action! Actions speak a lot louder than words and you might have a resume that doesn't quite fit the job, but you have the personality that matches perfectly! This is where the video resume is going to revolutionize the job industry!

Hopefully after reading this page, you can understand the potential and power of a site such as FriendsWin.

FriendsWin Makes their money in a very similar way to MySpace, Yuwie and hundreds of thousands of other websites. They advertise other companies products. How? Through ad programs such as Google Adsense along with many other advertising companies. Every time you click on an advertisement on a website, the website owner makes a little extra $$. We're talking pennies on the dollar, but those pennies add up. FAST! I know because I host several websites with advertisements. I once read a blog where a guy describes his transition from an ad-less blog, to a blog full of ads and he said that he did not see any type of decrease in traffic to his site. He if anything, he generated traffic because people would post comments on how 'badly placed' the ads were.

Now, FriendsWin is going to take a bit of a different approach compared to what Yuwie has taken. The site is still going to be free to sign up and use for blogging, messaging, pictures and all of the regular stuff that you can do on MySpace, but they are going to offer two separate types of 'pay' service for certain features of the site. First off, they are going to offer a video conferencing service to seamlessly integrate the ability to use your webcam and 'chat' with other people on the site. Second, they are going to offer a 'video dating' service through the site. Third, they are going to offer a video Resume where you can basically post your resume as a personal video, instead of the typical impersonal digital or paper format. These three caveats can be purchased in two separate ways. The first way is to remain as a 'non-paying' member and use the services on a 'pay per hour' basis. Kind of like the old long distance was for telephones. The second way is to pay a monthly subscription fee of $9.97 / month which gives you unlimited access to all of the video features. There are two reasons for the paid subscriptions. Video takes bandwidth (a LOT of bandwidth) and bandwidth costs money. Or, you can sign up as what they refer to as an IMR, and either pay the $9.97 / month or an annual $49.95 which gives you the ability to grow FriendsWin as a referral based business.

Regardless of the pay aspect of FriendsWin, the video features will be an excellent driving force behind FriendsWin since no none else has these features.
